Jegan participates in FESLAN, the first social economy congress in Basque Country

Jegan took part in FESLAN, the Employment Fair and Congress of the Social Economy, held for the first time in Donostia/San Sebastian. During the 16th and 17th of November, the Kursaal brought together all sectors of economic activity: some 50 companies of all sizes, from large business groups to SMEs and micro-enterprises, including worker-owned limited companies, such as Jegan. It was also a special occasion for future professionals, as the event, organised by Lanbide and the Basque Government's Department of Labour and Employment, presented offers for those looking for a job or to improve their employment situation.

Throughout the two days of FESLAN, Jegan has taken an active part with a stand where it has received all the people interested in knowing more about the details of the manufacture and development of injection moulding of zamak parts, both professionals and young university students and vocational training students.  

In addition to visiting the Jegan stand, the nearly 1000 registered attendees could attend two days of presentations and activities, such as round tables, divided into two areas, Industrylan, a meeting point for the industrial sector, and Servicelan, focused on the service sector. 

The event has counted on the entrepreneur Borja Vilaseca and the Paralympic athlete and first medalist in fencing Gema Hassen-Bey for the opening speeches of the two days. Two motivational talks reminded those present of the importance of entrepreneurship and persistence in achieving professional and personal goals. 

The collaboration of the Association of Social Economy Enterprises (ASLE) in the event was fundamental in raising the profile of social enterprises at this event.

Support for the worker cooperative model and worker-owned companies

Jegan supports and promotes worker cooperatives and worker-owned companies, an economic model that works for mutual benefit, seeking equality, sustainability, and a business culture centred on people. The cooperative model extended in the Basque Country has positioned the territory as one of the world's benchmarks in the social economy. Proof of this is that Donostia/San Sebastian has been recognised as the Spanish Capital of the Social Economy 2023. 

The first edition of FESLAN has turned out to be a very interesting event for Jegan, as it has provided the opportunity to meet more social economy enterprises and to strengthen relationships that transform into new business opportunities, as well as to support the sector’s future in the meeting with young professionals and students.
